Radiographs
All images must be in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) format. DICOM image files have a “.dcm” file extension. We cannot accept any other format (no JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.). Save the hip-extended, compression and distraction views onto a CD, and mail it along with the Radiograph Evaluation Application, to the PennHIP Analysis Center. It is important that you copy only the images to the CD. Many digital systems also copy a proprietary “viewer” onto the CD by default. Please do not include the viewer on the CD. Doing so can make it difficult to locate the images on the disk and will increase the time it takes to evaluate the images and issue a report. Contact the technical support department of the company you purchased the system from and ask them how to copy images without the viewer. Send all CD’s to: PennHIP
